Meet the Artists Behind the Canvas

When people think about art, they often imagine sprawling studios filled with expensive paints, giant windows, and artists wearing paint-splattered aprons while dramatic music plays in the background.

Our artists? They're a little different.

You'll find them at kitchen tables after dinner. On screened-in back porches with a glass of iced tea. In cozy reading nooks while the dog snores nearby. Some paint while listening to audiobooks. Others swear by true crime podcasts. A few probably have a cat "helping" by sitting directly on the canvas.

And honestly? We wouldn't have it any other way.

At Emerald Coast Needlepoint, our canvases—both hand-painted and printed—begin with real people who simply fell in love with the art of needlepoint. They aren't chasing gallery openings or museum exhibits. They're creating something far more personal: pieces that will become treasured heirlooms, gifts, ornaments, pillows, and memories stitched one thread at a time.

Our artists come from every walk of life.

Some are retired teachers who traded lesson plans for paint palettes. Some are busy moms squeezing in a few hours between soccer practice and bedtime stories. Others have been stitching for decades and simply couldn't resist picking up a paintbrush. We even have a few brave men in the mix proving that creativity has never belonged to just one group of people.

What they all share is something that can't be taught in an art class.

They understand needlepoint.

They know how colors interact once they're stitched. They appreciate the tiny details that make a canvas enjoyable to paint and even more enjoyable to stitch. They know that every intersection matters and that a beautifully painted canvas is more than just pretty—it's an invitation to slow down, create something meaningful, and enjoy the process.

That's the beauty of what we do.

Every canvas carries a little bit of the artist who painted it. Their patience. Their creativity. Their personality. Their quiet joy of bringing another design to life.

When you choose one of our canvases, you're not just purchasing a design.

You're supporting talented artists who are building something beautiful from their own homes. You're helping preserve a craft that has been passed from generation to generation. And you're becoming part of a community that believes handmade things still matter in a world that moves way too fast.

It's one of the reasons we love this business so much.

Sure, we sell needlepoint canvases. But what we're really creating is connection—between artist and stitcher, between generations, and between people who simply appreciate making something with their own two hands.

So the next time you open one of our canvases, take a moment to think about the person who painted it. Somewhere, another artist is probably sitting at her kitchen table, brush in hand, adding the next tiny stroke of color to a design that's destined for someone else's stitching basket.

And we think that's pretty special✨

Want to Join Our Artist Family?

We're always looking for talented painters who love needlepoint as much as we do. Whether you're an experienced canvas painter or someone who's always wanted to learn, we'd love to hear your story.

Because sometimes the best artists aren't found in fancy studios.

Sometimes they're simply waiting at a kitchen table with a paintbrush in hand.
